SIP AIR 900T Pick up Rake on its way to TFM Open Day 31st March 2023

Its a Fine Looking Beast!
The big Air 900T on its way from SIP in Slovenia to Thurles for the Templetuohy Farm Machinery Open Day on the 31st March 2023. A pick-up rake like no other!
You are looking at one seriously impressive machine making the long journey across Europe to be part of what was a very special occasion. TFM were celebrating 40 years as a John Deere dealer, and they pulled out all the stops — hosting a massive open day at their original depot in Barna, Templetuohy from 2:30pm on the evening of the 31st. For a company that started out with Jimmy and Joe Butler back in 1982 and has grown to cover 13 counties across Ireland, it was a fitting milestone, and they had a spectacular line-up of machinery on show to mark it.
The SIP AIR 900T is the centrepiece of SIP's rake range and it is easy to see why. With a 9-metre working width and the ability to cover up to 15 hectares per hour, this is a machine built for serious volumes. What really sets it apart though is the patented pick-up system — a flexible pick-up unit, rotor accelerator, and conveyor belt working together to produce beautifully airy, even swaths. The hydro-pneumatic suspension on each pick-up unit means it follows the ground closely along a curved line, so you get clean raking without tearing up turf or dragging in soil and stones. That matters hugely when you are cutting for quality silage or high-value crops like grass seed or alfalfa, where ash content and leaf loss directly affect the nutritional value of your forage.
This is exactly the kind of innovative, high-output machinery that Farmec are proud to bring to Irish farmers, and seeing it loaded up on the Scania Topline and heading west is a sight to stir any grassland farmer. If you were at the TFM open day, you will have seen it for yourself. If not, keep an eye out — the Air 900T is coming to a field near you.
